Celebrating Year 13 results with 100% university success

Newcastle School for Boys is today celebrating its Sixth Form leavers, with every Year 13 pupil securing a place at their chosen university.

As the only independent school in the region to offer pupils a combination of A-Level and Cambridge Technical qualifications, the School provides each student with the opportunity to follow the pathway that best suits their strengths, interests and future ambitions. This personalised approach has once again delivered outstanding outcomes, enabling boys to progress to a broad range of university courses; from Medicine, Economics and Law to Music, Real Estate and Engineering.

Many students are taking advantage of Newcastle’s world-class higher education offering, accepting places at Newcastle and Northumbria universities. Others are heading to leading institutions across the UK, including members of the Russell Group and other highly selective universities.

This year’s vocational results were particularly impressive, with pupils achieving an average of +1.5 value-added across all Cambridge Technical qualifications; a fantastic outcome that reflects the school’s commitment to maximising individual progress. Academic results were similarly strong, with high proportions of top grades across a wide range of A-Level subjects.

Headmaster, Mr Graeme Hallam said:

“We are incredibly proud of our Year 13 boys. Their achievements reflect their hard work, determination and the dedication of our staff to helping each pupil achieve his personal best. Our unique combination of A-Level and Cambridge Technical courses means no boy is limited by a one-size-fits-all approach, instead, each has the chance to excel in the way that suits him best. Today’s results are proof that this works.”

Alongside their academic studies, the Class of 2025 have contributed to the school community in sport, music, drama, leadership and volunteering, embodying the School’s values.

Head of Sixth Form, Ms Tracey Innes added:

These results are about more than grades, they represent the growth, skills and confidence our boys have developed during their time with us. We wish them every success as they move on to the next stage of their journeys.”
