Whilst still receiving the support and academic guidance boys have come to expect at Newcastle School for Boys, our sixth formers are introduced to a more independent, self-directed style of learning that will prepare them for university or the working world.

Pupils are supported throughout their learning by dedicated teachers who will help them to reach their full potential.

The Sixth Form offers a full range of A level subjects, with over 20 to choose from as well as a growing range of vocational qualifications such as Cambridge Technicals. For the majority of our pupils, we recommend that they go onto study three subjects at A level. However, we recognise each boy as an individual and provide flexibility in this option. For those hoping to boost their qualifications, we are also provide to opportunity to undertake the increasing popular Extended Qualification Project.

An academic requirement for entry into our Sixth Form is a minimum of five GCSEs at A* to C or grades 9 to 4 although, in reality, the majority of our students significantly exceed this requirement.

Our full range of subject options can be viewed here.
