Travelling to school
Newcastle School for Boys is located in the heart of Gosforth, a central suburb of Newcastle. We are therefore able to offer very easy access to the School through a number of local transport links.
Whilst many of our pupils choose to walk to school or travel by car, all of our school sites are ideally located in close proximity to a number of metro stations – South Gosforth and Ilford Road for our Senior School and Regent Centre for our Junior School – making travel from the coast, across Tyne and Wear and from Newcastle Central Station very easy. We are also located close to nearby Gosforth High Street where you will find stops for a number of bus routes. The timetables for both the metro and bus services can be found here.
If pupils wish to travel to school independently but not using public transport, there are a number of coach companies in the area that offer a school bus service. Kennedy’s Mini Coaches offer a school bus service between the School and Alnwick, Felton and Stannington. Jewitts Coaches run a bus route for pupils living in the Tyne Valley. The bus will run from Corbridge along the A69, with stops at Horsley and other locations, before dropping off at Moor Road South.
Any parents wishing to book their child onto any of these services can do so by contacting to companies directly.
Extensive co-curricular programme; from judo to coding, speech and drama to choir

School should be about the best for the child. Look after the child and the qualifications will follow is my belief and NSB is doing that for my son.
