Personal Enrichment

The Sixth Form years are years of significant personal growth for students, readying themselves for the world beyond school. At our Sixth Form, we ensure that students are given all the necessary tools for success with our enrichment programme. Each week, a double lesson is set aside for the programme, focusing on developing life skills, study skills and looking at their career options for the future.

We also recognise that, whilst a strong education and qualifications are essential to a students’ future opportunities, experience is increasingly becoming more and more invaluable. Each pupil within our Sixth Form is supported in securing work experience, with many students going to placements at some of the region’s most highly regarded organisations including law firms, sports teams and hospitals.

Throughout their time at our Sixth Form, students are assigned a personal tutor to provide them with both personal and academic support and guidance to help equip them fully for life after the School.

Every boy assigned a personal tutor to monitor progress and provide advice, whenever needed.

The pastoral care at Newcastle School for Boys is very good and one of the reasons our sons have been so happy at school and keen to stay on.
