National Young Mathematicians’ awards

Congratulations to Roshaan Hussain, Yohann Le Heron, Yureesh Pillay and Louis Shepherd Elliott, our team of Year 6 Mathematicians who qualified for round 2 of the National Young Mathematicians’ awards held at Explore Learning, Kingston Park.

The boys’ incredible teamwork and problem solving skills saw them comfortably through the first round three weeks ago. Following a very difficult second round, the team now await the results to see if they have made it to the national grand final held at Cambridge University. Good luck boys!

Yesterday, Yohann and Louis were also given the fantastic opportunity to be interviewed on BBC Radio Newcastle about the challenge. You can listen to the show again here. Along with Mr Spinks, the boys got to visit the BBC offices, meet with the morning show presenters and see a radio show broadcast live in action. Both the boys spoke well and did the School proud. What a brilliant experience
