Junior School Taster Week

For primary school aged boys interested in admission into Nursery to Year 6 at Newcastle School for Boys, we would be delighted to have them join us at our Taster Week. Boys will have the chance to get to know our teachers and boys, and enjoy the lessons and specialist teaching on offer. Join us for just one day or the full four days.
For boys in our Nursery and Reception classes, their mornings will be spent doing phonics and the usual Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, and boys in Years 1 and 2 will also have Maths and English lessons. The following activities are planned for the afternoons:
Monday PM – A visit from Angela’s Ark, where all of the boys will meet and greet and find out about animals.
Tuesday PM – Boys in Years 1 and 2 will experience our specialist computing and art lessons. Boys in Reception will have art, then the Reception boys will learn with our suite of iPads.
Wednesday PM – All boys will enjoy a performance from our Circus Skills visitor.
Thursday PM – All boys will experience our specialist music and sport lessons.
For boys in Years 3 to 6, the mornings of each day will comprise of Maths and English lessons within their year groups and then experience our specialist teaching and activities in the afternoon following the below schedule:
Monday PM – art, science and computing.
Tuesday PM – sport, drama and music.
Wednesday PM – sport, drama and music.
Thursday PM – art, science and computing.
