The expidition saw a number of ‘firsts’. It was the first time boys had a second attempt at completing their bronze qualifying expedition. It was the first time that Team Delta had completed a 32 km route unassisted. Navigation takes a lot of time and effort to learn properly. The assessor Geoff Wilson passed them all as satisfactory navigators. The boys had shown real improvement and excellent teamwork when they did an all-day training exercise two weeks earlier.
