Year 12 Geography climate change conference

Young people are understandably concerned about the future of our planet. Each local school in the North East was invited to send two interested delegates to a day-long conference at the Centre for Life in Newcastle last Friday.

Daniel H and Lewis R were chosen from the Year 12 Geography A level group to attend the conference. They had a very interesting and thought-provoking day.

Professor Hayley Fowler gave a keynote speech about the issues of climate change and then the boys took part in active discussion groups talking about causes and effects of global climate change. After lunch, groups shared their suggestions for the future and presented their ideas to the whole conference.
