Westfield School cabaret evening

NSB enjoys a great relationship with Westfield School and it was a pleasure to be involved in their Around The World cabaret in the evening of Wednesday 6th April.

The concept was to travel around the world in song, singing songs from the shows associated with a place.  A small group of boys from Years 9 to 13, including soloist Joshua M-R (Year 13), performed the stirring Bui Doi from Miss Saigon, about the children who suffered as a result of the Vietnam war. It was hauntingly poignant in light of the current war in Ukraine. 

Cameron M (Year 11) performed Maria from West Side Story as part of the American section, and Gabe H (Year 11) performed a Rodgers and Hammerstein classic, Younger Than Springtime from South Pacific. 

The girls gave some outstanding performances too and the boys joined them for a fun reprise of Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious from Mary Poppins as a grand finale. 

It’s always a pleasure to work with the girls and staff at Westfield and we hope to organise a joint school musical in 2023 as we see off the Covid pandemic. The girls are hopefully going to make a guest appearance at our summer concert.
