Under 13 Rosslyn Park rugby sevens
Last week, the Under 13 rugby sevens squad headed to the Rosslyn Park sevens tournament in London. This is the world’s largest schoolboy rugby tournament with over 600 teams and 8,000 players competing over five days.
The group left on Sunday and settled into their hotel in Wimbledon before heading for dinner at a local restaurant.
The following morning, they were up early for the short drive to the festival which was held on 25 pitches on the edge of Wimbledon Common.
The boys played five fixtures against Stamford School, St Anselm’s College, St John’s School, Prior Park School and Haileybury. The boys had a focus on working off the ball and sharing information. They made huge progress in both areas and scored some wonderful tries whilst winning, drawing and losing games.
They also had a focus on positivity, developing strategies on how best to support each other through positive feedback and body language. Both on and off the pitch, the boys were an absolute pleasure and can be very proud of their performance throughout the three days.
Well done to the whole squad: William B, Hadyn C, Alexander C, Paddy J-P, Cameron M, Archie M, Adam R, Fraser R, Henry S, Tom S and Max W.
