Under 10 & Under 11 Floodlight Football Tournament

Another fresh evening on the astro saw NSB under 11’s get off to a great start beating RGS with a Matthew S goal reacting first to the rebound off the keeper. The second game was a tight 0-0 game with Knop Law primary school. In what was proving to be a tight group Will G proved the difference against West Jesmond after some great quick passing from Matthew and Charlie.

In the final group game Will graves bagged a brace as NSB beat Durham to top the group. The semi final with Dame Allans was close and both sides had a chance to win however it went to extra time and Dame Allans found someone free at the back post to win in golden goal extra time.

Meanwhile the under 10 team had a solid start with a scoreless draw with NPS, with chances created and opportunities to score. Felix A then took the chances in our second game v RGS scoring both goals in a 2-0 win. Tobi E scored the equaliser after some fantastic play down the right and a great assist from Felix as we drew with Kings Priory. In a tight group we needed to win our final group game to make the semi-finals.

Despite having chances we couldn’t break through the Knop Law primary defence. A late penalty gave us a golden opportunity to go through Tobi missed the spot kick but showed great awareness and quick thinking to tap in the rebound as we qualified for the semi-final. It wasn’t to be as we went down 2-0 to RGS but the boys showed great progress and ability throughout the evening.
