The under 12 football team started their County Cup campaign with a 6-0 victory over Highfield Middle School of Prudhoe.
Understandably, following the summer break, the boys started warily but settled down to their usual brand of passing football. In the new 9 a side format, Oliver Mullarkey and George Riley moved the ball well from the centre of midfield while the back three of Bobby Johnson, Will Hodgson and William Varley looked solid.
After several near misses it was captain Riley who struck to give NSB a 1-0 half time lead. In the second half the boys settled down well and kept possession superbly, creating a number of chances for forwards James Harper and Cole Cartmell. Harper completed a quick fire hat trick before Riley added a second and Phil D’Agostino scored a good goal to make it a 6-0 final scoreline.
