Senior swimming gala v RGS and NHSG
On Tuesday of this week, we took two teams to RGS to compete in a friendly gala with the hosts and Newcastle High School for Girls.
The standard was very high and our boys swam superbly to compete well in a number of events. The gala started well with Ryan Z securing first place in the intermediate boys 50m back crawl. Will V battled home in fifth. Thomas N and Sean S followed this up with top three finishes in the junior race.
NSB continued their winning form with Alex L winning the intermediate breast stroke with Jesse M third. Jock E was runner-up in the junior race, Josh A, third and Tom S, fourth. Cameron M produced an excellent swim to finish second in the junior butterfly, Ryan M repeating the feat for the intermediates with Josh M-R and Alex L also in the top four. Alfie M stormed home in first in the front crawl with Nicholas Sykes runner-up in the junior race. Ryan M continued his winning form in the intermediate medley relay with Thomas N finishing second in the junior race.
In the relay events, the intermediate boys finished second in the freestyle relay and third in the medley relay. The junior boys finished sixth in both of their relay races. Well done to all of the boys involved in the gala.
