Junior school rugby
The junior school rugby teams enjoyed another busy week of fixtures and continued to show their developing skills.
Despite the weather the year five boys looked to move the ball around against Red House academy. Boys showed fantastic go forward evading defenders regularly.
There was fantastic support of the ball in attack by Hamish G and Jack A leading to tries. There was some good progress around the tackle area from Ashton S and Muhammad I.
The boys stayed positive in tough conditions and created many fantastic opportunities throughout the afternoon.
The team then played a range of fixtures at the Dame Allans festival.
The boys made specific progress around the ruck taking lots of opportunities to steal the ball. The boys also supported the ball far better than previously.
Muhammad Iftikhar was a shining example supporting the ball fantastically all afternoon in both attack and defence.
Meanwhile, our year three boys took on Darras hall in a tag match refereed expertly by a group of year 6 Darras pupils.
The boys made great progress in their support taking lots of opportunities to pass the ball before getting tagged. There were some fantastic efforts in defence from Mustafa B and Hugo A regularly making tags. The referee’s at the end gave player of the match awards to Max A and Hugo.
