Junior School rugby
In another great week for Junior School rugby, the Under 10 Tigers made outstanding progress last week in their fixture away to Durham School. The team were set the missions of making a shoulder to leg tackle, carrying the ball in two hands and giving positive feedback to each other. They achieved every one and scored some excellent tries in the process. Leading the way with tackle technique was Haydon D, who also scored four excellent tries. Other boys notable for their effort and progress in tackling were Kush G, Efrem M, Rayan M, Pablo Munoz G and Ashton S. There were also some excellent tries with the boys supporting each other well and finding space to go forward. These came from Kayden C, Guzman, Mohammed I, Jai L, Torin L and Ashton.
Our Year 4 boys also took on Durham School in three fixtures at Northern RFC. Boys made great progress in the contact area really developing their shoulder contact and getting opponents to the ground. Boys also showed much greater ambition to go forward in search of tries.
Our Year 3 boys were very busy this week having a fixture against Ponteland Community Primary and attending the Mowden Hall festival. The boys showed great progress throughout the fixture with Ponteland, with a number boys getting on the scoresheet. In their next outing, the boys showed great progress in their organisation, spreading out and covering the field much better in attack. Each game of the festival showed progression and was great to see all the boys actively involved and keen to go forward in attack and make tags in defence.
