We understand the importance placed on school meals and the part they play in the day, diet and educational experience of pupils. Pupils’ health, wellbeing and satisfaction is at the root of everything we do. We aim to deliver fresh food you can be proud of; food that will make the pupils smile. Our menus offer a balance of favourites but also introduce new dishes influenced by current high street trends, and are tailored to appeal to the changing tastes and palates across the age range
Our ethos is to produce food made using the freshest, most seasonal ingredients we can buy, from sustainable accredited sources. At Independents we source meat fresh from British farms, fresh milk and cream is 100% Red Tractor, eggs are British Lion marked and all of our fish and seafood is Marine Stewardship Council certified.
Our dedicated team at is led by Anthony Brennan, Sodexo catering manager. Our chefs are David and Richard and, along with our catering assistants, they bring a passion for delivering a mealtime experience for all of the boys that is healthy wholesome and enjoyable!
Anthony says “Over the 6 months we have introduced an innovative pasta bar, delicious salad boxes and healthy baguettes at The Grove. We have also held an Easter decorating class at the West Avenue and a cake decorating competition at the North Avenue. Newcastle Boys School has a family atmosphere and we are delighted to be part of the family and work with the school to provide a great service”
