Green Power Electric Car Race

A crew of six boys from Year 6 took to the track in our electric car at Gateshead Stadium in the Green Goblin challenge last Wednesday. They competed in three events: drag race, slalom and the 800m, which was two laps of the famous running track. All of the boys in the team, led by Mr Newton, had the chance to race and represent the school against around 25 other schools from the North East. A great day was had by everyone at the event run by Greenpower Education, with the aim of getting young people enthusiastic about science and engineering by challenging them to design, build and race the electric cars.
