Great North Run 2017

Well done to all of our boys and staff who took part in the Great North Run last weekend. A number of our boys completed the various runs on Saturday, many of whom were raising money for a variety of charities. Whilst we would like to congratulate all, special mentions go to the following boys:

Will S (Year 12) who completed the full Great North Run on behalf of the Alan Shearer Foundation.

Jacob and Harry B (Years 9 and 6 respectively) both ran the Junior GNR. Harry (pictured middle right) ran an impressive 17:47 for his boys’ age group and came 32nd out of 722 boys his age.

Adam H and Thomas Nin Year 8 (pictured middle left) whom we estimate have now completed the mini or junior Great North Runs 21 times between them.

Year 7’s Tom S finished second out of 465 in the Under 13 boys race despite being an Under 12, with an amazing time of 14:10

Adam R (pictured top left) ran the 4km race for St Oswalds Hospice, with a very good time of 20:17.

Archie M (pictured top right) came 73rd in the Junior run.  His time was 18:40 for the 4km race for 9/10 year olds. He was running on behalf of the Blaydon Bullets Rugby Club.

Oliver and Charlie W (Year 3 and 1(pictured bottom) who raised an amazing £500 for St Oswald’s running the junior race.
