English Schools Athletics Track and Field Cup
On Tuesday, our Under 13 and 15 athletics teams travelled to Gateshead to take part in the Northumberland round of the ESAA Track and Field Cup.
Boys competed in two events each and there were some record-breaking performances. In the Under 13 team, Tom S broke the Year 7 1500m record with a time of 4:55.4 and Thomas D lowered the Year 8 hurdle record to 13.9 seconds. Hamish A continued his good form in the high jump by adding 5cm to the year record, taking it to 1.50m.
In the Under 15 competition, Cameron B was the star man, breaking both the 1500m (4:58.8) and triple jump (10.81m) records. Josh L lowered the 300m record to 40.3 seconds and Lewis R was also a double record breaker with 13.4 seconds in the hurdles and 4.85m in the long jump.
In the team events, the Under 13 boys finished a strong third place whilst the Under 15 boys finished fourth. Well done to all of the competitors.
