Before half term, boys in West Avenue participated in a ‘Copper Challenge’ organised by Henry S, Year 6. The collection was a huge success, raising £96.80 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
This week the boys were visited in assembly by Mrs Sheldon, a volunteer for Macmillan. She explained to the boys that the Macmillan Charity was started in 1911 by Douglas Macmillan, when he used his inheritance of just £10 to found the charity that still bears his name. Mrs Sheldon accepted our donation on behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support
