Chamber choir visit to Abbeyfield

Chamber chior

The Senior School chamber choir visited Abbeyfield residential care home on the Tuesday before the Christmas holidays to perform some carols and songs for the residents.

This has become an NSB tradition and our neighbours at Abbeyfield always look forward to the chamber choir’s annual visit.

The boys performed many traditional carols in four-part harmony and also some popular Christmas songs, encouraging audience participation. Having entertained the residents for almost an hour, the boys chatted to their audience and wished them a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

A resident said to one of the boys that “it feels like Christmas now”. Another resident simply said, “Why can’t you come back more often?” The event was an enjoyable experience for the performers as well as their audience. It showed a great sense of community spirit and really demonstrated how music can bring us all together, young and old.
