The under 12 Rugby team started their busy weekend with an impressive 70-5 victory over Emmanuel College. James Harper benefitted from some excellent passing to score a hat trick with his first 3 touches before adding a 4th at the end.
He was followed over the line by Cole Cartmell (3), Max Metcalfe 94), Will Varley, Josh Leslie, Bobby Johnson, Oliver Fletcher.
On Sunday 12th October this team also took part in the Tait 10 a side Rugby tournament at Barnard Castle School.
The day started well with NSB defeating Cundall Manor 24-0. Captain Max Metcalfe crossed for 3 tries while impressive scrum half George Riley scored the 4th. In the second group game NSB defeated Yarm School 47-0, Will Varley (2), hilip D’Agostino (2), James Harper (2) and Metcalfe the scorers. In game 3, Rodillian School,e also defeated 47-0. Metcalfe (3), Alex Rye, Josh Leslie, Oliver Mullarkey and Harper the scorers.
This sent NSB forward as group winners into the winners group to face QEGS Wakefield, Woodhouse Grove and Barnard Castle. These games were hugely competitive and played at a very high intensity. Very narrow defeats to the two Yorkshire Schools and a draw against Barnard Castle meant NSB finished 4th overall and finished the day as the tournament’s top points scorers.
