Author visit – Tom Palmer
Boys in Years 5, 6 and 7 enjoyed a fantastic morning on Wednesday when they were visited by Carnegie Award nominee Tom Palmer, who even brought his own rugby goal post with him.
Years 5 and 6 took part in an interactive session with Tom about being an author and what inspires his stories, finishing with a very competitive rugby reading quiz, which was won by Jacques G.
Year 7 were very engaged with Tom’s presentation about his two new books, D-Day Dog and Armistice Runner, both of which were published to commemorate the First and Second World Wars.
The boys took part in various debates about the subject of using animals in warfare and the D-Day landings at Omaha beach. This was a hugely inspiring morning for all of the boys involved.
