Under 13 rugby v Giggleswick

The Under 13 rugby team started the stronger of the two sides in their match against Giggleswick.

They were rewarded when Jonathan B scored the first try of the game, after an excellent tackle by Oliver H led to Robbie B kicking the ball through to Jonathan B to run onto.

A particular highlight of the first half was the boys’ tackling and support of the ball-carrier at the breakdown. 

Just before half time, Giggleswick levelled the game after a strong run from their forward finally broke our boys’ defence.
 
The start of the second half saw Giggleswick playing strongly and made it 10-5. Our boys responded brilliantly and scored their second try after an excellent side step from Lawrence M who played the ball to Toby S to go under the posts. Our third was a real team effort, moving the ball from one side to the other which ended in Oliver H running the ball home.

In the closing stages of the game, Oliver H scored his second try after an excellent break from Milburn allowed him to run the ball into the corner. The game finished 20-10 to Newcastle School for Boys. The whole team were excellent and thoroughly deserved the win.
