1stXI HMC T20 Triangular
The 1stXI travelled to St Peter’s School in York to play in the third round of the HMC T20 Cup, a north of England final, to see which team would go through to the forth round. NSB played St Peter’s first and set them 136 for the loss of six wickets, with Alex C making 50no and Robbie B 45l; a good total after being 16 for 2. In reply, St Peter’s were cruising until they lost late wickets to make it a tense finish. They managed to pass NSB’s score in the 18th over eight wickets down with Haydon M taking 3 for 21 from 4, Archie F 2 for 16 from 3, Archie M 2 for 23 from 3 and Tom S 1 for 24 from 4. Bowman kept very well taking a stumping and catch behind standing up and the magic moment was an incredible catch on the boundary by Mustard.
In NSB’s second game against Durham School, the team posted 156 for 6. After being 0 for 1, Mustard and Bowman put on 74 for the second wicket. Bowman was out for one, which means Mustard made 73 of their 74 run partnership. He was dismissed for 73 from just 43 balls! In reply, Durham were all out for 103. Mustard took 3 for 23 from 4, Slane 2 for 4 from 3, Archie Fletcher 2 for 8 from 2.3 and Ted F 1 for 36 from 4. Henry S took two good catches in the deep, Sam E kept well with two excellent stumpings, Archie Fletcher effected an important run out from the boundary and Bowman took a great catch running backwards under a skier.
Unfortunately, we don’t go through to the next round as St Peter’s won both their games.
