The 1st XV started the season in fine style with a 57-0 victory away to Kings Priory, Tynemouth. Despite missing 4 of the starting side, there were some superb performances, particularly from the year 11 boys in the squad. Falcons Academy scrum half Ruaridh Dawson was first on the score sheet as he raced away from a dominant scrum. Fly half Joe Nicholson dummied his way over for the second with year 11 wing Alex Tait finishing neatly for the third try. Fellow wing Will McFarland ran a superb support line for the next try and powerful number 8 Cameron Horrocks crashed over after picking from the scrum. Joe Cowan added 3 first half conversions for a 33-0 lead. Early in the second half Cammie Baker scored the try of the game, racing 70 metres to score. Shortly afterwards Harry Ash ran a superb dummy line to allow Tom Pattinson to score. Dawson then grabbed his 2nd try with a neat interception before year 11 scrum half Matteo Addis raced 50m for a fine individual try. Final score 57-0, well done to all of the boys involved.
