The 1st XV produced a dominant 1st half performance to secure a hard fought victory over Dame Allans. The game started well with NSB gaining possession in the Dame Allans 22 and from a trademark driving maul, loose head prop Dan Hails broke before sidestepping the final defender to score. Shortly afterwards Falcons Academy scrum hal Ruaridh Dawson shot through a gap before beating 3 defenders on his way to a great individual try. Cameron Fisher-Naylor added the conversion. NSB notched their 3rd try before the break with the maul again proving unstoppable with Hails crashing over for his second try to give NSB a 17-0 half time lead. Dame Allans fought back well early in the 2nd half and against the run of play NSB varied the gameplan with Hails shooting form the back of a maul before feeding Dawson who slipped a neat inside pass to the flying Tom Pattinson to touch down under the posts. Dame allans grabbed 2 tries of their own before solid defence led to a Matthew Charlton turnover and when the ball was recycled man of the match Matthew Andrew ran in from the 22 to score, Alex Charlton adding the extras. Dame Allans manfully replied again to make the final score 31-21 to NSB.
