1st XV, U15 & U13 rugby v St Bees

On Saturday 18th October the 1st XV travelled to St. Bees School in West Cumbria along with the U13 and U15 teams. In beautiful surroundings NSB produced some outstanding Rugby to come away with a 55-0 victory.

Playing into a strong wind in the first half NSB had to work very hard to gain momentum and field position. However, the carrying and recycling of forwards such as Cameron Horocks, Matthew Andrew and Matthew Charlton set an excellent platform.

From this, the skilfull back line were able to execute overlaps at will leading to right wing Will McFarland scoring a first half hat trick. He was followed over the line by scrum half Joe Nicholson and full back Jack Appleton.

This pattern was repeated in the second half with Phil Parkinson, Dan Hails, James Strong, Max Lawton and Richard Warwick standing out up front to help Joe Cowan, Tom Crosse, Appleton and Nicholson score further tries.

Well done to the whole squad and a huge thanks to Lachy Dalgleish who stepped up at short notice on Friday evening to play a part in the game.
