Under 15 football v Winterton Community Academy
The Under 15 football team progressed into the semi-final of ESFA Small Schools Trophy after victory against Winterton Community Academy. The boys had travelled down to the game the night before to ensure that their preparations were perfect. They were a credit to the School with their behaviour at the hotel on the evening before the game and in the morning.
The start of the game saw Winterton start the stronger of the two teams and could have opened the scoring on a number of occasions. However, NSB reacted excellently and had a goal cancelled out for offside. This did not affect the boys who scored the first goal of the match through Zak M’s calmly placed finish. NSB doubled their lead when Lucas de B was brought down inside the box and James H scored the resulting penalty. In the second half, Winterton got a goal back and put NSB’s defence under pressure throughout the half. The boys battled brilliantly and secured their place in the semi-final with 2-1 win.
The boys will now play against Oldham Hulme Grammar School in the semi-final after half term.
