Under 14 rugby county cup semi-final

The Under 14 boys overcame testing conditions to beat King Edward VI School, Morpeth 46-7.

The boys started well and outstanding flanker, Tristan S was first on the scoreboard with the first of his three tries of the afternoon. Lewis R finished shortly after, capitalising on some excellent handling by Joshua L, Jake S and William V. Leslie scored the third, barging his way over from close range. KEVI rallied and completed the scoring for a 17-7 half-time score line.

In the second half, NSB played a more direct game with forwards Harvey G, William H and Harjap T to the fore. Oliver F’s quick thinking at a penalty led to him crashing over before Sommersall scored his second. More quick thinking by Oliver M led to an excellent individual try by Lewis R. Sommersall notched his third, showing pace and power before the final try was scored by Jake S as he outpaced several defenders down the right wing.

An excellent all round performance and the boys progress to their second successive county cup final which will take place on Monday 5 December, 5.00pm kick off at the Newcastle Falcons Kingston Park stadium.
