Under 13 Durham 6-a-side cricket

The Under 13 6-a-side cricket team consisted of Cole C, Oliver F, James H, Josh L, James S and Will V. Drawn in group B, they progressed through to the final with three wins from three. The first saw them win comfortably by 30 runs against the MCC Hub.  The second was much closer, beating The Chorister School by five wickets but with only three balls to spare and then another comfortable win against Durham B by 36 runs.

In the final against Durham, Oliver r took a single off the first ball of the innings.  Seven balls later James S was 29 retired.  Oliver and Will Varley continued to dominate the bowling and finished on 28 retired and 25 retired respectively. In this 30 ball innings, the boys didn’t lose a wicket, there were six dot balls and these three batsman hit 7 sixes and 6 fours to set Durham 91 to win!

In the field, James H set the tone with a great opening over conceding only three runs. After Josh L and Cole’s overs, Durham were 16 for 1, needing 67 from 12 balls.  To cap off a great day, the boys got a wicket with the last ball, Durham finished on 40 for 2 and NSB won by 51 runs.
