Under 10 rugby: Clegg Cup

Last Saturday, an Under 10 rugby squad travelled to Barnard Castle to take part in the annual Clegg Cup rugby tournament.

NSB’s first match saw Robbie B run in four tries in a convincing 5-2 win over Sedbergh. This comfortable, bonus point victory left NSB needing a draw against hosts Barnard Castle in order to progress to the next round as group winners. Trailing 3-2 late in the game, NSB showed great resilience to dig deep and score with the final play of the game to level the scores and win the group. Bowman, Kotaro Fand Oliver T scoring tries in an epic match, with excellent work in the breakdown by Archie M and Alexander N as well as superb support play from Oscar B, Johann G, Christie L, James W and Alfie W.

NSB dug deep during a difficult second half of the tournament and some outstanding fighting, spirited performances allowed them to leave with their heads held high and a more than respectable third place finish.
