Year 4 trip to Rising Sun
Year 4 enjoyed a fantastic day at the Rising Sun Country Park in the sunshine. The morning began with pond dipping, finding a myriad of creatures including a colourful stickleback, all under the watchful eye of two very friendly mallard ducks.
After lunch the boys used steel and flint to create sparks and light fires. Bertie commented that, “Lighting the cotton wool was fun, it was like being Bear Grylls”. Following learning to light a fire, the boys were taught to cook on it. Qasim A enjoyed making the dropped scones and mixing the ingredients.
Popcorn and marshmallows on willow sticks were also on the menu. Henry S particularly enjoyed toasting marshmallows “I tried to burn mine over the fire. It tasted delicious!”
Thank you Heather and Amanda at Rising Sun Country Park for a super day of bonding and adventure.
