Year 7 reading challenge
Year 7 boys were set a reading project over Christmas to read a challenging fiction book of their choice and complete a detailed book review. The boys had to provide an overall evaluation of the book without giving too much away.
They had to identify the central story, plot and characters, comment on the book’s strengths and weaknesses, plus provide their personal response to the book. There were some fantastic reviews completed across a very varied selection of fiction.
The three winners were: Deniz D(The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne), Ted F(Wonder by R J Palacio) and Abu U(Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman).
The runners-up were: Kotaro F(Holes by Louis Sacher), Johann G(How to Rob a Train by Tom Mitchell) and Joshua R (The Boy who Harnessed the Wind by William Kamkwamba).
