World Book Day stories
On World Book Day, all the boys at West Avenue were given a Share a Million Stories record sheet and asked to record each time they shared a story with someone.
Sharing stories is so important and we know that hearing stories is a more effective boost to becoming a reader than anything else. Boys could make a record on their sheet if they listened to a story with their family, read aloud to somebody, or had a story read to them. Despite us not being in school to hand in the record sheets, Mrs Elliot has been overwhelmed by the number of entries. The boys who have shared the most stories are:
Year 3 – Matthew S with 105 stories
Year 4 – Rob Cwith 84 stories
Year 5 – Ben P with an eye-watering and amazing total of 150 stories
Year 6 – Thomas M with 85 stories
Huge congratulations! 10 house points will be awarded to each boy for this achievement next week. Please keep reading and Mrs Elliot will be delighted to hear from you about all the books you have discovered.
