MFL Spelling Bee national final 2018
On Friday 29th June, Gabe HandMax W set off to Cambridge to take part in the national finals of this year’s MFL Spelling Bee competition.
There they met up with Year 7 pupils from all over the country; all winners of their respective regional finals. Following some last-minute cramming in the glorious sunshine, the boys competed in the Spanish category putting in excellent performances against some very tough opposition. While the eventual winner came from Stamford School in Lincolnshire, the extent of all the finalists’ success is significant. To have progressed to become among the 100 best spellers in the country, out of an initial 28,684 participants, is an outstanding achievement. Congratulations, Gabe and Max.
