Thank you for your interest in a role at Newcastle School for Boys.

Teacher of Business and Economics

An excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of an ambitious and growing independent school that seeks to develop a specialism in business and entrepreneurship.  The School has a dedicated sixth form centre and an emphasis on providing an outstanding learning experience and character development for boys.

Newcastle School for Boys is the only independent school in the north east of England providing continuity of education for boys only from age three to 18.  We are passionate about boys’ learning and the development of boys and young men of excellent character.

Boys are challenged and supported by committed and dedicated teachers who care about each individual boy, their learning and character development.  We offer an education tailored to boys’ learning needs and underpinned by a strong school ethos.

We are seeking to appoint a full-time teacher of Business and Economics from September 2020 or sooner if the opportunity allows.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • an enthusiastic and dynamic teacher of Business who can deliver successfully to mixed ability groups.
  • able to teach GCSE Business and the Level 3 Extended Certificate in Applied Business, as well as enriching the subject area within the School’s co-curricular programme. The ability to teach A level Economics is desirable but not essential.
  • able to build positive and productive relationships with boys.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of a thriving, successful and popular subject area in an ambitious and growing school with an emphasis on providing an outstanding learning experience for boys. A contribution to the pastoral and lively co-curricular life of the School is expected.

Applicants should complete and return our application form, together with a concise supporting letter detailing how their experience and knowledge would ensure the success of this role.
