Over 80 boys from Reception to Year 7, plus their parents, attended a busy and bustling football fun day this Sunday, aiming to raise funds for the Under 11 tour to Barcelona in the Easter holidays.
There was plenty of activities on offer for the boys to attempt, including a 3v3 football tournament, pay-to-play Fifa 17 on the big screen on the stage, table football, tuck shop, popcorn stand and a superb tombola event. Further favourites were the speed-shot challenge, with medals given to the boys with the hardest shots from the infants (Matthew S), juniors (Alexander C) and parents. Parents and boys alike rolled back the years on Mr Asker’s Subbuteo table, whilst the centre-piece was a not-so-nail-biting parents vs staff football match on the AstroTurf, where the PE department plus Mr Gray proved that they still had what it takes with victory over the junior and infant parents.
Overall, the event was a huge success, with over £800 profit going towards extra events and trips when the boys are out in Barcelona. A huge thank you goes to all involved, from parents and boys giving up their Sunday to support the event, to all of the staff who made the event possible.
Finally, a huge congratulations goes to Charlie A in Year 3 (pictured) for being announced as the winner of Mr Sander’s kit design competition – after 75+ entries, and hundreds of votes cast by the boys, Charlie’s kit was crowned the favourite and will be worn by the NSB players on their tour in April. Well done Charlie!
