1. Scholarships will be awarded for academic, sporting or artistic excellence.
2. Scholarships will be awarded on merit.
3. The aim is to reward good internal candidates and attract good external candidates, thereby helping to raise academic standards.
4. Scholarships will remain in place as long as a boy continues to perform at the expected level and will be reviewed if it is thought necessary to do so.
5. Assuming that performance remained at the expected level, scholarships awarded in Year 7 and Year 9 awards will remain in place until the end of Year 11.
6. Scholarships can only be awarded once to a boy from Year 7 through to the end of Year 11. It is not possible for a boy who has already been awarded a scholarship to sit a further scholarship exam at a later date to try and increase the level of the scholarship previously awarded.
7. All boys moving into Year 12, including those on existing scholarships which finished at the end of Year 11 will be eligible to sit for a new scholarship for the Sixth Form.
